There is an annual Shopping Tournament going on in Fredericksburg, Texas. This event is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country.
You might have seen us in the Focus on Women magazine or the San Antonio Express-News among other publications. There will be many other publications this summer where you will see and hear about the Shopping Tournament.

A fun, exciting, competitive shopping fundraiser benefiting the Fredericksburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country.
“Our shopping enthusiasm translated directly into tens of thousands of dollars raised for the Club which serves hundreds of families in this community. As we got to know Frederisckburg over the years, it was an easy decision to relocate here when my husband retired last year.” - Shopper Pat McCormick, formerly from CA, who has participated since the first Shopping Tournament.
An event not to be missed!
Shoppers come from from all over the country to participate in the Shopping Tournament. Many friends make this their annual getaway and several have taken part in the Tournament since it's beginning.
Select stores are invited to sponsor a “hole” and shoppers must shop at 18 of the participating stores. The stores offer discounts and other enticements in each shopper's eco-friendly gift bag. Many stores offer Friday evening Preview Parties to help shoppers with their selections and build the excitement.
Tournament Day begins with a Tee Off Breakfast at the Boys & Girls Club. Kids give tours and share their heartwarming stories of what the Club means to them. Then costumed teams hit the street for a full day of competitive shopping. “Scores” are kept for each team and individual for fabulous prizes. The day concludes with a 19th Hole Celebration Party at the historic Nimitz Museum. Gourmet food, wine, music and prizes cap off the incredible day.
